Rag Joint Sprockets are only for temporary use and are NOT safe for
long term use.
So you bought a Bicycle Engine Kit and the Kit came with a Rag Joint Sprocket but the Rag Joint Sprockets that are in the Kits are just in there just to get you started. Rag Joint Sprocket only attaches to one side of the wheels spokes and a gas engine puts more torque to your rear wheel than you ever could. All that power and torque on one side will put a twisting effect on your wheel with the sprocket pulling one way and the ones on the other side are not. This twisting effect will cause your wheel too fail before too long.
The companies that manufacture these kits use the Rag Joint Sprockets to bring the price of the kits down, knowing that you will need to upgrade.
On this page you will find everything you will need to upgrade so your bicycle will be safer and and last longer. By putting the torque and power to the hub and then evenly to all the spokes of the wheel the way it should be.
